In celebration of its 80th anniversary, the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) revealed a “new agenda for a new age,” vowing to take urgent action around education, health, economic empowerment and public policy in an effort to build a stronger Black America. The Section’s Health Committee will undertake the task to help the membership to be more aware about the health agenda of the National headquarters. In addition, the Health Committee will disseminate information on the Section’s website and social media sites, as well as, partner with organizations (i.e., the County’s African American Health Program) in order to help enlighten and inform our Section members, as well as, the community about prevalent, high-risk health issues and preventative measures.
The mission of NCNW, Inc. is to lead, develop and advocate for women of African descent as they support their families and communities. We fulfill our mission through research, advocacy and national and community-based health, education and economic empowerment services and programs in the United States and Africa. Through section and affiliate volunteers in 34 states, NCNW addresses local needs while impacting communities nationwide.
Our National Headquarters
Our national headquarters is based in Washington, DC, with a historic main office on Pennsylvania Avenue that is strategically located between the White House and the Capitol. We also have two field offices around the country. The national headquarters acts as a central source for program planning.
