The priorities of People-In-Crisis Committee for the 2017-2018 operational year is as follows:
- Donate book bags filled with school supplies for the inmates’ children at the Montgomery County Clarksburg Correctional Facility
- Provide Welcome Home Kits, i.e., kitchen, bathroom and bedroom items to the Montgomery County Homeless Coalition and the Helping Hands Shelter to those individuals transitioning from a shelter to a home, four per quarter.
Participate in the Montgomery County Homeless Resource Day by donating socks, hats and gloves as well as volunteering to assist the homeless on that day
- Volunteer at Food and Friends on a regular basis.
- Donate monetary funds to The Ronald McDonald House and the NIH Children’s Inn as our Christmas project.

The section has adopted The Twinbrook Elementary School for 2015-2016. Below section members prepared and served lunch to the teachers and staff for their last In-Service Day training before school started. Along with the luncheon, the section provided school supplies for the children in grades K-5.
We participated in the Twinbrook Pearl mentoring program started by the Principal.
This was a mentoring program for 5th grade African American girls that focuses on topics including Growth Mindset vs. Fixed Mindset, Role Models, Positive Images, Current/Future Leaders etc. Each participant was given a Fresh Water Pearl bracelet to remind them that they are talented, unique and beautiful.
2015 – Mother’s Day baskets made by Section members and donated to homeless shelter, nursing home and Bethesda Naval Hospital for wives and mothers of wounded soldiers.
